Let’s face it. Not everyone has a green thumb. If you are new to gardening and want to add some life to your home with some plants and flowers, your intentions may be great but your execution may not always be.
Now, now, no one’s pointing fingers. These are just some things to consider. If you are not in the habit of looking after a plant now, it may be hard to start and do so consistently. Furthermore even if you remember to water, there is actually a little bit of practice involved in getting the right feel for how much water a plant needs. And then there is the expense. This is even greater with flowers since they die so quickly and have to be replaced frequently. And if you procrastinate on ditching old flowers, the smell will not waste time in making its presence known in your house.
None of this is meant to be discouraging. In fact, it is meant to raise a question: have you ever considered using silk plants?
Before anyone gets defensive this is not a put-down. Silk plants are more realistic than ever today since most manufacturers are able to create very life-like colors and textures that make the plants look strikingly real, not to mention always fresh. Silk plants are far more realistic than plastic plants, which, let us face it, look like plastic. Silk on the other hand very well replicates the softness of real leaves and petals.
Apart from the money you will save on these long-lasting plant alternatives, you will not have to worry about overdoing it with water, since you will never have to water them at all. However, for an enhanced look you can drop water droplets over the leaves and petals to give them a more organic aesthetic.
Imagine never having to mess with soil, draw in bugs, miss a watering schedule. And if you go on vacation you will not have to worry about having someone take care of them for you.
If you are new to gardening or are quite busy, all you have to worry about is where to put them. Then the rest literally takes care of itself!
